Standing Together Through the Fight
When we heard about a local tattoo shop owner bravely battling cancer, EKF stepped in to show support. We made a donation to help ease the burden and remind him he’s not fighting alone. This is what community looks like—lifting each other up in the toughest moments.

St. Patrick's Day Parade

Tampa, FL

Spreading Awareness, One Bead at a Time
EKF hit the streets of Tampa Bay for the St. Patrick’s Day Parade, riding alongside our friends at the Tampa Pig Jig. From the float, we passed out beads, high-fived the crowd, and shared our mission to raise kidney disease awareness. A celebration of community, connection, and kidney warriors everywhere.

Championing Equity in Kidney Health
EKF proudly joined NephCure at the annual Black Health Matters: Together for Health Equity event, standing in solidarity with the African American community to address disparities in kidney care. We shared our message, connected with local leaders, and reaffirmed our commitment to fighting for equal access, early detection, and better outcomes for all.

Nephcure Annual Patient Summit

Times Square, NYC

Voices Heard in the Heart of Times Square
EKF was honored to attend the NephCure Patient Summit in Times Square, where kidney warriors, caregivers, and advocates came together to share stories, learn from experts, and push for progress. Surrounded by bright lights and big voices, we stood tall for awareness, research, and the power of lived experience.

Tampa PigJig

Tampa, FL

Each Fall, the Tampa Pig Jig brings incredible live music, delicious food, ice-cold beer, and a fierce corporate barbecue competition to downtown Tampa’s waterfront. But it’s more than just a good time, the Tampa Pig Jig is a philanthropic event that raises money for NephCure, the only nonprofit organization committed to supporting research, improving treatment, and finding a cure for the debilitating kidney disease, Focal Segmental Glomerulosclerosis (FSGS) and Nephrotic Syndrome.

Capitol Hill Day

Washington, DC

Hill Day is when The Enlisted Kidney Foundation takes the fight from the front lines of kidney disease to the floors of Congress. As a veteran-led, patient-driven organization, we step into the halls of power not for politics, but for purpose.

We meet face-to-face with lawmakers, staffers, and federal agencies to advocate for real change in how kidney disease is understood, treated, and supported, especially for veterans, underserved communities, and those living with rare conditions.

Our presence on Capitol Hill is a powerful reminder that behind every statistic is a warrior. And every warrior deserves a system that fights as hard as they do.

This is advocacy in action.
This is EKF.
So Others May Live.

Another Milestone for Rare Kidneys on the Hill Day!

This year’s Rare Kidneys on the Hill Day—in partnership with NephCure—was our most impactful yet. More than 90 passionate RKD advocates from 25 states traveled to Washington, D.C., united by one mission: to ensure the voices of the rare kidney disease community are heard loud and clear.

Together, we met with Congressional leaders to advocate for the New Era Act (H.R. 1518) and to protect critical NIH funding and structure. Thanks to these efforts, 15 additional offices committed to signing on to the New Era Act, moving us closer to stronger legislative support for rare kidney disease patients.

Even more exciting—we’re confident a Senate companion bill will be introduced in the near future, building on this momentum and expanding our reach.

This success shows what happens when patients, families, and advocates come together for change. The Enlisted Kidney Foundation is proud to have been part of this historic effort—and we’re just getting started.

Disabled American Veterans (DAV)

Merritt Island, FL

The DAV has long been a lifeline for veterans, helping them secure the benefits and support they’ve earned. At EKF, we’re honored to partner with DAV chapters locally and nationally to extend that mission into the kidney health space.

During a recent visit to our local DAV office, we spoke with all nine staff members—and discovered that five of them were living with CKD, yet none of them realized they weren’t fighting it alone until EKF walked in. That’s the power of showing up, starting the conversation, and building connection. Together, EKF and DAV are ensuring no veteran battles kidney disease in silence. We also had the pleasure of touring their Veterans Memorial Museum
